Sage Accounting bank feed errors: match the product and region first
Use the right Sage knowledgebase before changing a feed or applying instructions for another product.

Scope: choosing the correct troubleshooting route for Sage Accounting bank feed messages. The examples below identify their region; they are not universal repair instructions.
“Sage” describes several products, and a familiar error number does not make every guide interchangeable. Start by recording the current subscription name, country edition and task. Sage’s Irish product page explains the Sage One naming transition; it does not establish that every regional product has identical support steps.
Why the region check matters
Sage’s Canadian Sage Accounting bank feed guide lists codes including 402, 403 and 429, and cautions against disconnecting a feed because transactions may be missed. Its UK bank feed guide discusses reconnecting in its own workflow. These are regional instructions, not two interchangeable fixes.
Make the next support question precise
Use a short note with the product name, country edition, complete code and message, affected institution, last successful import and whether transactions are missing or duplicated. The code is a reference for finding the correct article; do not copy a meaning from another Sage product or from a generic list of internet status codes.
Before any change, document the last imported transaction date and the unresolved items. If someone has already reconnected or manually imported a statement, record that too. It helps the reviewer understand what may overlap.
Check the records after connectivity returns
A successful connection is one checkpoint. The bookkeeping reviewer still needs to compare imported records with the statement and review gaps or possible duplicates. Assign responsibility for that review instead of assuming the absence of an error means the books are complete.
If the exact message is not covered by the applicable regional guide, use official Sage Support. We can discuss the surrounding bookkeeping workflow; this article does not promise a vendor-level repair.
Bank feed questions
Can I follow Sage 50 instructions here?
Only if Sage explicitly identifies them as applicable to your product. Sage 50 and Sage Accounting are different products.
Should I disconnect immediately?
Check the guidance for your exact product and region first. Do not assume that is the correct first step.
What should I verify after the error disappears?
Confirm the intended date range and review missing or duplicated records through the normal reconciliation process.
